OUr Mission
Dark Sky Devo was founded in 2025 with a mission to create a junior and U23 team that is firmly rooted in community and committed to building a bridge toward the next professional step in each rider’s racing career. Our vision is to redefine the development team by fostering an environment where athletes train and compete together regularly. Through mentorship, teamwork, and shared ambition, we equip riders with the skills, resilience, and support needed to thrive at both regional and national events.
our vision
1 Year
Establish the team with a well rounded group of riders, coaches, and support. Attend a set calendar of high level races. Achieve success through rider growth and experience.
3 Year
Provide full support for entry fees, travel, housing, and equipment. Be recognized and respected as a known, well-supported, national-level race attending team.
5 Year
Increased roster size and non-elite rider participation. Place riders in the top 10 at a national level.
10 year
Grow the team’s reach, increase community engagement, and advocating to bring XC racing to the next level. The ultimate goal of graduating a rider to a World Cup level outfit and bringing USAC XC Nationals to Flagstaff, Arizona.
Prospective riders will be selected through an application and “tryout” process. Highlighting not only current abilities and success, but also our shared team vision and core beliefs.
Riders dues are expected to be set at $2,000 per year. Team dues cover athletes entries into all events in our set “A Race” calendar, 5 team kits, and 1-on-1 fully custom coaching. Generous scholarship opportunities are available.
Selected riders will be expected to attend team practices, training camps, and the majority of the “A Race” calendar. Rider goals and strengths will best determine their race calendar. Showing up in peak shape, good attitudes, and ready for hard work.
In addition, team members will be expected to meet a minimum of volunteer hours and mentorship programs. Various volunteer options and durations available.
Athlete to athlete and athlete-coaches mentorship will focus on strengthening mental fortitude, well-being, and self-worth. The aim of improving confidence for racing and education/job future.
